is the 7.62x54 R surplus ammo reloadable?

I would love to use my new M44 nagant next year for hunting but all the surplus ammo is fmj. Are the cases reloadable? if so does anyone have a recipie they recomend.

I have pulled the FMJ, dumped the powder, reloaded with my powder and bullet. Works good. Then just throw the case away.

They used to call this "Mexican Match" ammo.

Just depends on how bad you want to reload it. Most of the surplus (spam can) stuff has a corrosive berdan primer. While berdan primers can be removed, it ain't the easiest thing to do. What Mike suggests is a good option or Privi Partizan makes some soft point ammo... Prvi Partizan PPU 7.62x54R 150grn SP 20rd Box

Thanks for the input guys. i was afraid of that about the primers. Looks like comercial for hunting and surplus for plinking.
