Anybody know if you can carry a knife there? I will be ok with out my gun, but aint no way Im rolling with out my knife

Theoretically, concealed 4" or less is "legal", but they've somewhat unofficially classified all one hand opening knives as flipper knives and busting for it. Also, if pocket clip shows, it's no longer concealed. AG of NYC has also banned sales of all one handed openers, has been (I think) put on hold with suits. Read up a http://KnifeRights.org.

NYC laws are among the most frequent threads there.

Apparently they are searching quite a bit on subways system now too.

You certainly can't get into any of the mainstream attractions, like Statue of Liberty, Empire State Bldg., Ground Zero, museums, etc with ANY knife at all, they use metal detectors.

I wouldn't let NYC gun laws deter you from ever visiting the city. Everybody should go at least once. It is a very neat place, although sort of dirty. I have been several times and I was never worried about my safety. Heck, the last time I went I took my older sister and mother and they went all around Harlem (walking and taking the train).

My brother lives on Long Island and he tells me that you can own a handgun, but you have to get a permit for one (just to own it), which he tells me is a pain in the butt.

nothing up there I care to see anyways. too many people, a lot of gridlocked traffic, and some skycrapers. yay. I prefer majestic scenery like the mountains of Colorado, Wyoming, California and Utah and Montana. now that's a sight to see!!

Wow, I'm wondering if some group isn't setting NYC up for a class action suit for more reasonable gun laws. Three in just a few weeks it's odd to say the least.
