I didn't edit it. I take Garufa as an old school, M1, kind of guy.

I am. That's why it took so long to accept AR's. Now I am fairly, but not totally, assimilated.

The LEO's statement that there were so many complaints does give one pause...is Blount County on the way to getting wussified?

They've been going down hill since I was in Alcoa high school in the early 90's. Alcoa was the first, Murvill was next on the list and now BCSD has finally hit it's lows. When BCSD finally got their new jail, it was all over for Blount County residence.....which is why I moved.

I wonder if it may have something to do with the huge influx of new residents from "gun free" states.

Sure, to a certain extent.

But you've gotta realize that a significant percentage of generations of Tennesseans have become conditioned toward the "progressive" side of things too. That giant media machine works, you know. Kids that grow up nowadays and only watch network news as their main source are simply gonna lean that way, can't help it. Even subtle influences like TV cop shows figure in. If it ain't a LEO, mostly only bad guys have guns, and the "you got a permit for that?" kind of thing, all filtering in from Kali and NYC.

What one is "taught" long enough one becomes, to a great extent, politics, religion, whatever. There's a reason there ain't many Christians in Yemen nor Muslims in Tennessee.

Then too, like most places, you just have more folks living closer together, often surrounding only pockets of significant remaining acreage. Like where we were. It's not like they're making more land, but we keep cranking out the people.

Look at all them up and coming suburbanites within earshot. Not many of them shoot much in the backyard, eh? We were actually pret close to that Cressingham Dr. too, that's where both the pc guy and the nice cop came down from.

If all the homes around there were on about the same size turf as our host's, it would be a significantly different culture in the area too. People that grow up where they can piss off the porch generally aren't nearly so gun shy. :)

Still, if folks shot there some every week or two, the neighbors would likely become much more "conditioned". Maybe irritated still, but not to the point of calling the cops, who'd also be conditioned to tell 'em they're already aware of the situation and it's okay even if they did.

^^ Those pictures also don't show those houses being on much higher ground than we were.....we had to trek some pretty steep ground to get in and out of that place.....
