Civilian Marksmanship Program Store in Anniston Alabama.

Rifle Sales

Look under Rifle -- .22 Target Commercial:

Anschütz Model 1903 Standard Smallbore Rifle

ANS 1903S (Right Hand)

ANS 1903SL (Left Hand)

$1495 S&H $20.00 per rifle

The rifle is a bolt-action single-shot .22 caliber (5.56 mm) smallbore target rifle.

The Anschütz 6834 sight set is included with each rifle.

The rifle is manufactured with right or left handed stocks to be supplied according to the purchaser's choice.

The CMP logo, 55 mm in diameter, is engraved on the right side of each butt stock.

The rifle is supplied with normal accessories including handstop 6226, screwdriver, Allen wrench, instruction booklet and original test group.

CMP - Club Junior Rifle Programs

The rifles can be mailed to your FFL, but if you visit the store, you might be able to pick one up in person, call and ask. They don't sell them to just anybody. You've got to be a member of a qualifying organization (a shooting club) but that requirement is pretty broad, read the details.

The CMP is one of the better deals around. They are mostly known for their M1 Garand sales, but they do have a few other types of rifles, and rifle parts.

Good luck in your search. Hope this helps.

Garand Collectors Association. $25 a year. Cheapest way I know of to meet the club requirement if you don’t already belong to any of them. The Garand Collectors Association » Membership

Uhhh, DaveTN is right, the membership requirement is . . . well, easy to satisfy.

Here's the membership page:

Club Search

And for Tennessee:

Club Search Submit

And here's an entry of interest to you, it says the Knoxville Moose Lodge is a participating organization:

Club Information

Your Avatar/Splash Page says you're from the Knoxville area -- I'm thinking it's kind of interesting, maybe a dead give-away that your Moose Lodge has a shooting range! You sound just like the type of family the CMP is looking for, what with shooting with your son and grandson.

Thanks guys I have been a member of the moose for years, and shooting at our range is one of the ways I am enjoying my retirement. Since I am turning 65 in a few weeks I think I deserve an Anschutz. lol

These are sweet rifles. My wife was on the UT rifle team in college and she shot Anschutz and about 10 years ago, I bought myself one.

My dad has one that a friend was offloading from his collection a number of years ago. They are sweet shooters thats for sure, by far my favorite .22 rifle I have ever shot. Talk about nice triggers on them too.

They are so easy/fun to shoot, it kind of gets boring after a short while hitting everything you point it at with such ease. But I guess there could be worse problems to have, right?
