It looks like gun owners will be the losers in 2012

Recommended Posts

Fixed a few things above in my previous post.

I am just getting disgusted with the options I am being handed. I am tired of being forced to pick the lesser of two evils. And all of them want control, nothing more.

We are losing rights every single day because the government is criminalizing anything that might threaten their current or future control over the people. And it is control, not money that drives most politicians. Why else would a senator spend $55 million dollars for a position that pays less than $200,000 a year and would take 275 years to break even.

Income tax is used as a means to control. The current welfare system is used to control a segment of the population. Every law passed has to do more with controlling the populace than helping the populace.

Ohshoot you are right. The justices could and most likely would have far reaching ramifications if they were appointed by Obama. But what about justices appointed by Mitt Romney. His state has very harsh gun laws, has government run healthcare, he has supported and donated to Planned Parenthood and supported Clinton's don't ask/don't tell. Those items alone should scream Democrat to any of us yet he wears a ® next to his name.

That ® is why most people are going to vote for him, not what he actually stands for.

If Obama wins a second term, I don't think a Republican controlled House and Senate will stop anything he wants to do. Look at the track record so far. Key word is WILL. Do the Republicans have any?

Great point. Reagan, who set the standard, had not only the will, but the political experience and the eloquence to both present and defend his positions. And that will was driven by an unshakable, deeply-held moral conviction.

A large segment of the electorate, myself (and probably a majority here) included, yearn for such a leader. We want the total Reagan package, someone who will shake things up and set the country back on course, discharge the public debt, guide us in the return to an age of greater freedoms and personal responsibility.

Unfortunately, at least the perception is, no such candidate is in the race. Yet ANY in the Republican field would be better than the incumbent.

Alas, here is yet another election where I'll probably be voting more against the other party than for my choice. But if scumbama wins a second term, Lord help us.

Mr. FlipFlop is the opposite of Mr. Ideologue, so in this case I'll gratefully desert the Devil I Know.

And as 8.6AR points out, his very which-way-the-wind-blows nature makes him more malleable to the will of Congress, which with any luck at all will be GOP controlled. Unlike O, he's not going to be out on his own limb hell bent on some personal vision of destroying what remains of the very ethos of America.

"This is an 88 magnum, it'll shoot through schools"

We may get stuck with O again, but the Senate is a must.

Yet I read that conservatives are far more charitable than liberals.

I don't believe for an instant that Democrats are any less interested in keeping our tax money for themselves than Republicans are.

But don't mistake liberals and conservatives with Democrats and Republicans.
