I recently made my first firearm purchase. I bought an xs7 chambered in .308. I was wondering if anyone else had shot/seen/owned one, and wanted to know what you thought.

My first notes:

Saved 40 bucks over a savage 111 by going with this.

its got an adjustable trigger, but I like it at the stock 3 lbs.

the barrel nut is almost identical to a savage's barrel nut

no iron sights :)

suprisingly low kick for a .308. probably due to the butt pad thats 2 inches thick

action feels smooth, smoother than the 111 i handled at the store

i dread tryin to find out what bullet she likes best, thats a lot of money I can't spend too often. hoping it don't turn out to be the $30 stuff.

no word on accuracy, just got my scope/rings in yesterday. if weather holds out tmrw, i'll be sighting it in.

Will try to post some results when I get back.

I debated getting one myself. The only complaints I could find is that the

extractor can break. And if it does it can be replaced with a Savage parts fairly easy.

Also the trigger guard is plastic and if you tighten it to much it will crack around the screw holes.

Once this happens it lets the screw protrude in to the bolt channel and causes the bolt to bind.

It to can be replaced with a metal trigger guard from a Marlin 925. All you have to do is drill a larger hole for the XL screws.

Extracor: Savage extractor

Trigger guard : metal trigger guard installation
