I'm not so sure that if it is posted that you can be prosecuted or even arrested. I think the police just tell you that you have to leave. Because it's in GA.

Well even though the suspect has had Domestic Violence Charges I am seeing a Handgun Carry Permit issued to a James Benson in Chattanooga. The media is saying James L Benson, 50 of Chattanooga, is the suspect.

I have a catering business and I deliver to Hospitals and Doctors offices everyday. All of the Hospitals and almost every Doctors office I know is posted. So I am sure this post is a Hoax. There is no way a shooter could get past that sign to enter the hospital. No reason for the victims to worry about defending themselves in a hospital because no one can enter with harmful intentions in that environment.

More seriously...I hate to see it and especially hate to see that James Benson is a permit holder...maybe there needs to be a portion of the carry test to test if you are an idiot or not.

That's really a shame. I understand the importance of being aware of your surroundings, but an ICU is not where you would typically expect danger. I certainly wouldn't. Especially if you are doing a procedure in the ICU or involved in a discussion of patients, your attention is on patient care not on looking for security threats. I sure hope this doesn't become common. Otherwise what's next: metal detectors on entrance to a hospital. The MED (a local trauma center in Memphis) already has them in the ER.

I hope the woman that is critical makes it.
