Several years ago during a luch break, I heard several employees talk about how many times they had voted in a recent election. Some had moved out of the city and state which they had just voted in. The election was won by a few vote margin.

A voter ID is similar to a lock, it keeps honest people, honest.

Those that want to do away with voter ID laws want illegals to be able to vote.

Not a one of the following would be prevented by a voter I.D. law. They do point to how easy it is to set up electronic voting machines to fix a political race. And even shows how a voter I.D. law can be circumvented.

IMHO, the old law they had on the books, which mandated paper ballots, would go much much farther than a voter i.d. law...

"I could spend volumes and volumes of pointing out voter fraud from last week. But, for right now, I'll just point out a few quick ones:

• In Boulder City, Nevada, when voters cast their ballots for conservative Sharron Angle for U. S. Senate, they discovered that the touch-screen voter machine was already pre-set for Harry Reid, according to Fox 5 News in Las Vegas.
  
• Harrah's Casino "urged" their workers to vote for Harry Reid; and even took them to vote at their polling stations.
  
• In New Bern, North Carolina, Sam Laughinghouse said that he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result.
  
• The return address on 250 absentee ballot applications in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is 1238 North Avenue, which just happens to be a vacant lot.
  
• In Arizona, a federal appeals court rejected a state law requiring voters to demonstrate citizenship at the polls.
  
• In Illinois (although numerous other states had the same situation), military personnel overseas were "accidentally" denied the right to vote. The Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (MOVE) requires states to mail absentee ballots to overseas troops, government employees, and other Americans living abroad, at least 45 days before an election. 35 Illinois counties did NOT make that required deadline. Worse yet, the DOJ has declined to pursue any punitive action against any state or county in question!
  
• In Connecticut, a "sanctuary city" issued thousands of IDs accepted for voter registration. Yes, illegal aliens might have elected the Democratic Governor of the state. According to World Net Daily: "Connecticut's lame-duck attorney general and new senator-elect, Richard Blumenthal, is obligated to investigate credible accusations of voter fraud that linger in the state's gubernatorial election---including possible illegal alien voting---despite Republican candidate Tom Foley's concession to Democratic opponent Daniel Malloy, charges the GOP's attorney general candidate in the election, Martha Dean. Dean, who is considering further legal action challenging the eligibility of her victorious Democratic opponent, argued Blumenthal is sworn to uphold the federal and state constitutions, making it his obligation to investigate voter fraud 'without regard to whether it has been requested or approved by the secretary of state.'"
  
• There were severe voter irregularities in the close election of Patty Murray in Washington State."

When I show up at the polls, I have always produced my ID.. to prove to them I am who I am.. Libs will do anything to gain an advantage over the honest people to extort their agenda.

Dude, talk about suspect sources! Michelle Malkin? Patriot Update?

It is a fake issue, one of those boondoggles that somehow republicans think will make a difference. It won't.

Those married to a party always belileve in voter fraud. You've heard about the Deibold Bush thing, right?

Every single time a party loses it is never "well crap our candidate was less appealing than the alternative" it is always "they cheated" and "voter fraud"

This comes from the mindset that if everyone has the same facts as you they will reach the same conclusion. It doesn't work that way, people presented with the same facts reach different conclusions. I suppose there could be 10 million fraud votes to explain the election of Obama, or I could go with the more likely scenario that more people voted for Obama than McCain. Ten million cases of voter fraud?

Again, take a look at the convictions. Does anyone convicted of voter fraud seem to be committing voter fraud at a massive rate?

The only aspect i take issue with is the fact that individuals have to pay for said ID. At no point should a US citizen have to pay anything to excercize their right to vote, if leroy is correct and they can get one for free then there is absolutely no hardship imposed. Apparently people just need something to complain about.

cost me 25 bucks to get my birth certificate...from Michigan. I have to have it for a passport to get outta here when tshtf.

It's the birthers who piss and moan the most. it's just not possible for a black man to be president!

His reply

Everyone should be required to submit a voter registration card, as we've done for years. I disagree with the new photo ID required law as it presents an additional hurdle for the elderly, disabled and poor. Obtaining a photo ID can be a difficult process for some if they don't have the proper forms of identification at their fingertips such as a birth certificate and social security card. I would not want to see anyone kept from their right to vote because they are not capable, do not have the transportation and/or monies to obtain a photo ID.

He's an idiot. I'd bet not half the voters bring a registration card. I don't carry it, and haven't used it to vote in year. Good percentage of folks probably couldn't even locate it. So it'd actually be MORE of a "hurdle" since so many would have to get another one. If that were a requirement, the already low voting numbers would be reduced even more -- very small % of folks don't have a photo ID. VERY small.
