A few questions

As a surprise, which I found out about , a friend is taking me coyote hunting. I don't have questions about hunting them but on a few other things that he was unsure about when I asked. We'll be going out on someones property and they will be with us the whole time. Do I need a small game license to do this since it's on someones property? My next question for him was am I allowed to carry a handgun and rifle at the same time? He said he didn't think so but wasn't sure. If it matters I do NOT currently have a CCW permit but would obviously only be carrying it loaded while there.

There was a third question... but it eludes me right now. If I figure it out I'll post and ask.

I believe that you will need a license (and proof of Hunter Safety class completion - or the apprentice license). As far as carrying the handgun at the same time as the rifle, I think you might be okay seeing as how hunting coyote with a handgun is allowed (no FMJ ammo, though).

I'd strongly suggest that you either contact the local TWRA officer for the county you'll be hunting or call the TWRA regional office and ask them. The game laws in Tennessee can be extremely confusing and I'd rather get the info from the folks who are enforcing those laws. Also, the TNdeer.com forum has a "TWRA Questions" area where confirmed TWRA employees will come and answer your questions.

Thank you. I felt these questions may be stupid or commonly known but I genuinely have no idea. It'll be the first time I go out to shoot anything that's not a practice target.
