Bobcat hunting

Recommended Posts

All right guys, I have shot 3 coyotes this year and I would love to shoot a bobcat. When is the prime time to hunt bobcats? My foxpro caller has bobcat in heat, but when and how is the best way to hunt them? you don't hear a lot about bobcat hunting, so, I thought I would ask :screwy:

Dont use the bobcat in heat. Use high pitch sounds like bird distress or high pitch rabbit. I usually play it none stop at lower volumes. Concentrate on really thick stuff antd near water. I usually stay on stand for 30 to 40 minutes. Dont worry about the wind but keep the sun to your back. Bobcats will most likely sneek in so be camo'ed up good. Keep movement to a minimum. If you have a bobcat come in and hang up out of range I then use vole squeaks. Main thing is call to really thick brush and look for them hard but keep movement down. Bobcats hunt by sight and sound more than with their nose.
