He saw something out in the field behind his house. He got his wife to keep an eye on it while he got his gun and boots. She told him where it went int he woods. He snuck up on a thicket where he thought it would show up. He thought a coyote or gray fox would pop out but it was this bobcat. I am guessing this is what has been getting some of his chickens.

I called one in this evening. Never could get a good shot. It dissapeared in a briar thicket.

Do you use the same calls for "Cats" as Yotes?

WOW!! I'm 60 years old and I have only see one Bobcat in my entire life out in the wild. IMHO, the chances of seeing a wild Bobcat and stalking it, and killing it are astronomical. "They" say, there is a good Bobcat population in the lower 48, but you couldn't prove it by me... You were born 150 years to late Mr. Mountain Man :-)

I'm like you Dennis, this year while deer hunting on a snowy day I saw my first cat. But didn't have time to even pick up the rifle, much less get a shot at it. I would love to get a chance at one some day.

You can but I concentrate more on the higher pitch sounds at lower volumes.

nice! Looks like a house cat. How big was it?

It was about 20lbs. He has not measured it yet.

Where was this?

It was in the south western part of Williamson county.

I took this bobcat in just outside of Watertown in Wilson county. He was about 30 lbs and 31" from the nose to the base of the tail.
