I wonder if it is true. Being accused and being guilty are two seperate things.

With over reaching powers of the the Fed he might never see the light of day or see a trial either

I would say that there is a good chance that he was an unwitting participant in this thing. They're gonna have to produce tons of evidence to prove that Abdul Khalik had intent. The ways these organizations funnel money is much the same way that our crooked political parties do. Either way, that business is nuked.

“But I’m sure the feds can’t do this kind of thing without all the consideration that’s due.”

Someone's had their head in the sand for a few years. The guy could be guilty as sin or TMF 18B could be right on the money. Either way, the statement I quoted above is really naive in my view.

I have known this guy for years from the Auto Auction Business. He has always been a stand up guy in his business practices and very just a very nice person.

I have dealt with him over several years. He is a exporter of used cars. If he is involved I would be surprised. Maybe a scapegoat.

I know of another incident that involved a person that exported luxury cars to Russia and he was innocent.

When you are having millions of dollars wired from the Middle East for cars to be shipped to West Africa you better know WTF you are doing.

If they suspect terrorist activity I wonder why they are filing civil charges instead of criminal charges? Maybe it’s easier to take all the money that way and then they can arrest them on criminal charges later.

Yeah, it seems like there are little facts here regarding how he was involved directly with Hezbollah. The article states that money was funneled through "Hezbollah" controlled money laundering channels. This suggests multiple cutouts between him and Hezbollah which could mean there is a good chance he didn't know where the money was ultimately ending up.

I think there is going to be good reason for suspicion, but I doubt they'll be able to prove anything in regards to intent. They'll just take all the money and liquidate his business. If he's innocent then that's a crappy situation, but hey, be more careful of those you associate with. I don't think he'll see the inside of a Fed prison, but he might be on the next thing smoking to Beirut if he doesn't have his citizenship yet.

As far as him being an upstanding citizen, well, I don't know if that really adds weight to his innocence. We grew up watching movies where the bad guys were easily identified because they spoke with Russian accents and looked really mean, but in reality the folks that are involved in big bad guy stuff are good at it because they are good at fitting in and being productive members of society. If the bad guys walked around with silly mustaches and looked like the kind of person that would tie a helpless woman to some railroad tracks then they'd get caught long before they were able to execute a half-billion dollar scheme to fund terrorists.

I bet most of us would be surprised at the amount of money raised here that ends up in terrorist hands. Many of the so-called Islamic charities are fronts for raising money for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. DOes that make all Muslims supporters of terrorism? Of course not, but a surprising numbe rof them DO support it, some wittingly, some not. I cant help but believe that if the average Muslim in the street was truly against terrorism, then terrorism acts would dry up, at least to some degree. And if you think that Mosques are just for prayer, you are deluded, lol. I would bet that despite the protestations of the Imams, bad things are planned in there...
