3:1 odds, says the Deputy and Super are buddies . . .

I'll top that. I'll give you 3:1 odds the Deputy and Super are related, by blood or marriage.

There are enough rural counties in this country where the County Mayor, the County Sheriff, the Chairman of the School Board, the owner of the Grocery Store, the owner of the Department Store, and the lead Banker all have the same last name or married each other's sisters.

The only way you'll bust up a lot of these little chummy circles is with prosecution through State or Federal officials.

And, if "you're not from around here" or if you are not related to the three leading families, don't you even roll through a stop sign, it's how county gov'mint is funded. And not just in Tennessee. Be glad you're not from Arkansas.

It's a DA that took a pro gun position, and a school super that took a pro gun position...

It's a good day Tater!

The DA didn't take a pro-gun position... he took a CYA, don't charge a politically connected member of the community, or face re-election problems stance.

A pro-gun stance would have been to come out and state the lw is a stupid law and he wouldn't charge any adult for carrying a firearm on school grounds in his counyty... not just a politically connected person.

I hope the guy gets off with a misdemeanor offense and fine. It would be bad for someone with a handgun carry permit to be convicted of a felony over this school ground garbage law when we have been checked out and given the green light.

Although it wouldn't help him because of timing, there is a bill in Nashville that would define the "intent to go armed" or really it more defines some things that aren't....and I think he would qualify under one of the listed exceptions of the intent to go armed.
