It's a tyrannical act... Some would call it a declaration of war against all patriots... but the sheeple will continue watch Monday night football, and dancing with the stars.

Why can't we watch Monday Night Football. Alex Jones spews that bull***** daily. I am a smart adult, I am perfectly capable of enjoying television and keeping up with topics all at the same time. Me sitting around stewing on whether or not this was gonna pass would affect nothing in reality. I do think this is awful for the American people but it's not gonna ruin my life.

I dont believe that this one will pass constitutional muster. It was ruled on in the early ninteen hundreds in the state and federal courts during the West Virginia coal mine union troubles in the early teens. The state (...and federal....) militia's tried the same thing; namely holding and trying people in military courts while there were functioning state and federal courts.

By the way, for what it's worth, here is the text of an e-mail reply i recieved from Bob Corker's office RE: all this stuff (...Alexander didnt bother to respond. My guess is that he doesnt think he has to, after all he is the personification of "the best and brightest". He'll do the right thing for us "delightful but thoroughly ignorant rustics"....):

....Dear Mr. ______,

Thank you for contacting my office regarding provisions related to the disposition of detainees in the FY2012 National Defense Authorization Act. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.

Like you, I believe that protecting our constitutional rights is one of the most significant responsibilities of the U.S. Senate. I understand the concerns presented in your letter, but I think it is important to note that there is a significant amount of misinformation being circulated with regard to the provisions of the FY2012 National Defense Authorization Act which recently passed in the Senate. I can assure you, nothing in this bill changes current law or practice in any way as it relates to U.S. citizens or the military's ability to operate within the United States.

In an effort to clear up any misconceptions about the bill's intent, an amendment, which I supported, was added to the final Senate version of the bill and reads, "Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities, relating to the detention of US citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States." This amendment passed overwhelmingly by a vote of 99 to 1. The final Senate bill passed by a vote of 93 to 7, and includes authorization for a number of essential programs and benefits to support our troops, including a 1.6% pay raise for active duty military.

I believe we must have legal methods in place to remove combatants from the battlefield, obtain critical intelligence, and detain those that are a threat to the American people. However, I understand the important balance that must be met between protecting our nation from future attacks and preserving our civil liberties. I can assure you I will certainly keep these sentiments and your thoughts in mind should the U.S. Senate consider relevant legislation in the future, and I thank you for your input.

Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me throughout the course of my term.

Sincerely,

Bob Corker

United States Senator

The point isn't liking to watch football, but the majority of people allowing it to distract them from what is really going on...

Alex Jones is way off the deep end... I don't blame anybody for not watching him... but the fact remains once this bill is signed into law we all live in a battlefield where the constitution no longer applies. There is no other way to sugar coat parts of this bill...

I don't really care for Alex Jones. I'm sure he is a great guy and he really cares about his country, but I just can't get into all of the conspiracy stuff. King Dude (Mike Church), who I am sure a lot of people on this forum hate, is more my style.

I've enjoyed a good conspiracy theory. Over the years some have panned out to be true. Iran Contra, Project Gunwalker, MK Ultra things of that nature. Some not of course.

I've always enjoyed listening to Alex Jones but always considered him a complete loon. (I love talk radio from NPR, Rush, Hannity, Alex Jones, Coast to Coast AM. I don't care I love it.)

I still think Alex Jones is a complete loon but the world has caught up to him and is perhaps even loonier than even Alex Jones can theorize.

For the past several months The Drudge Report has been throwing a link or two a week to Alex Jones.

Is Jones 100% correct? I don't think, but if he's 50% correct it's still bad (and he's more than 50% correct from what I can tell)

I don't want to wake up in a world where Alex Jones was right about the FEMA detention camps but it seems that probability is increasing daily now. With several laws they passed and are trying to pass and some of these bids going up on bizops it's concerning.

Cupcake deemed security threat <<<<<<<<<<< Read that and tell me everything is OK! It's from WCVB TV ch 5 Boston

I enjoy Alex Jones the same way I enjoy science fiction. It is amusing regardless of its authenticity.

However it does seem that the world is catching up with his delusions. It would be a shame to discover that he was right all along! :) It may be a case of "a broken clock is correct twice a day". For instance certain economic prophets of doom were predicting an imminent crash for 20 years, so when a crash finally happened, they were all of a sudden dead-on.
