I don't kmow if any gun shops have any or not but, you can still get them from some of the dealers like Southern Ohio Guns and J&G Sales . As far as I know anyway.

Tempest, thanks for clearing that up for me. Guess I need to do more research. What I'm looking for is a Mosin that's shorter than my 91/30 without spending a bundle. Looks like it's the 38 that I'm looking for. Thanks

M38's seem a little more difficult to come by between the two. M44 is probably going to be the cheapest route. AIM had a special on them last month.

empire arms is a well known seller in the hobbie .you pay alittle more but you get what you are paying for no problems with ordering from him.

They have several really nice looking rifles!!!

I've never bought from them but apparently Pat Burns is THE major source for M39's and has been for quite a while. The stock changes constantly.

SOG is the only other dealer that sells them.

I'd love to have one. They are beauts! I have a M44 (actually a Chinese Type 53) and it's a lot muzzle heavy with the bayonet permanently attached. If I could have found one at the time, I would rather have had the M38.
