Bought a XD 40 Service about 3 weeks ago. I love it and it shoots great...BUT....now I am wanting a Subcompact...I almost wish I would have gotten a Glock 19/23 for my house and the XD subcompact for my carry. I'm sure if I tried to trade 3 weeks later I would get ripped. Oh well..live and learn

An Xdm Subcompact is the same size as a Glock 19.

Wish I had a G19 to compare, but no. XDSC's are closer* to the G26. The XD Service is around* the same size as the G19.

*Because obviously the dimensions aren't identical.

Nope. Butt much shorter for one thing. Kind of voodoo that the 9mm holds 13, actually.

You do reliaze that you have 2 calibers there? The 19 is 9mm, the 23 is 40S&W. Are you sure you don't want the 22/23 combo? That would give you 40S&W for both.

Yes I realize the 19/23 difference. Me XD is a 40 but my next might be a 9 because of the # the 9s hold

I've owned and shot a lot of different 9x19 mm pistol's and believe the G-19 & 26 were the better of the double stack's. From what I'm getting out of this you'd rather have the smaller XD as a compact in .40 S&W but the G-19 for round capacity and size as a home defense weapon. That way you get to have an XD & a Glock which doesn't sound like a bad ideal to me. Wait a bit and you might find someone that'd rather have your XD than they're G-19.

I was talking about the XDM compact. I don't know about the XDSC, I've never owned one. However, I did own an XDM compact and a Glock 19 at the same time and I can tell you that they are about the same size. I didn't think to make a really bad video to demonstrate it but I do recall being disappointed that the XDM Compact was not quite as compact as I had hoped relative to the Glock 19.

I do like the m&p ... Was thinking that might be my next gun... Use to have a g19 and loved it ... But didn't orally have a safety and have seen too many people shot to feel safe with a round chamberd.. that's just me though ... But glocks are like an I-pod.... U have no trouble finding holsters and parts or accessories

The XDsc is larger than the Glock 26/27. They are about the same length, but the slide on the XDsc is a little taller and the grip is noticably longer. The XDsc is also about 6oz. heavier. I have an XDsc in .40. It's a good gun and I shoot it well, but for carrying, I'd rather have the G26/27. The XDsc is now a nightstand gun with the extended mag in it.
