Has GM started hiring for Spring Hill?

I registered on their career site and get email notifications once in awhile on new positions.

Just as an update, I was supposed to hear back from the interview early this week, but when I didn't hear from them, I followed-up yesterday with an email. They said they are still working on making a decision and hope to have a decision buy end of business day on the 16th. Errrr... More wait. At least I'm still in race.

The waiting can be very frustrating... been there, done that. It's a fine line to walk between being a pest (or appearing desperate) and simply being professional when delays happen and repeated follow-ups are necessary. Hang in there.

Having worked in the auto industry for 7 years, I'd consider it a last resort.

Just putting this out there, but if anybody needs a job in the Knoxville area desperately I can probably get you on reading meters. Gauranteed 40 hours a week and overtime if you want. The job is horrible and so is management but its money until you can find something else.

Yeah with UMS as of Feb 1st we will be "Grid One Solutions". Its not for everybody, but I know some people need all the help they can get. Beats minimum wage at McDonald's.

Well I will keep my fingers crossed for you sigbrown, I landed a job as I stated above, first day today, on the way home got an email from a federal position with a preemptive job offer, not with the organization I was hoping for. Actually, with the one I have a problem with, still it would allow me to further my career and education. Big decisions ahead.

Best of luck to you

I echo SigBrown...thanks for the positive vibes...and I'll toss this question out to the masses...How many calls to HR is to many calls? I talked to a company rep at the Vets Job Fair...applied for a position...word-smithed my resume to focus on my military career and achievements...was also "encouraged" to contact HR by the same rep...I'm about to make a personal appearance...thoughts...opinions

and...LOL...would sending a "suck up" email to BARRETT be a negative....

Have you tried the Tennessee Career Center? I'm getting board being retired this winter and went there for a part time job. They have lots of full time job listings. Good luck.

Yep...went there...90% of the jobs in my area of expertise that they were encouraging me towards were entry level jobs...and that won't do.

Thread recessitation time...I got a couple offers I'm mulling over...an aquaintance of mine at church is a PI, asked me to redesign her LOGO for her business, and offered to "train" me to do accident / insurance investigations and do that part time. Also may have a P/T gig at a local bike shop...still have one interview to go. Things is looking UP....

Thats good news. Hope one of them works out for you. I've had to take on a restaurant job in the meantime but its still not going to cover all my expenses.

We've been blessed financially...have not needed to "worry" about paying the bills...only DEBT we have is the house note...

How many times you call and how often, depends on the vibe you get on the first call back. Say you put in an ap on Wed, you call the following Monday. Thats what I always did, I just asked if they had reviewed my ap and was wondering what days they normally did interviews. Hope this helps.
