They are a small family distiller. Picked up a bottle of there 8yr single barrel. It is 128.3 proof.

I am no expert but it seems to have a more robust, strong flavor than Woodford Reserve. Let one or two ice cubes melt in it and it is a very nice sipping bourbon.

Looks to be barrel proof, like Booker's (my favorite). Woodford, like most bourbon is diluted with water to bring it down to bottling proof. Booker's, and probably Willet too, is straight out of the barrel. More flavor because it's not diluted.

Is that Bulleit a Bourbon or a Rye?

I'm working on a bottle of Russell's reserve 6 year old rye. Rather interesting. I bought it to make Sazeracs but I seem to be getting fond of it neat.

One of the main reasons my girlfriend lives with me today is because of Booker's and a few ice cubes. Don't remember what I said, but it must have been pretty good.

Price? May have to pick up a bottle.

$55

The store where I bought it let me sample it first. Bellevue has a nice new liquor/wine store called Red. Being able to sample something before you buy is pretty nice.

I figured. Still probably worth every penny

Bulleit is right at the top of the pile.

Sipping a little Turkey for dinner myself. I quit drinking bourbon years ago due to some consumption issues I had when younger. My mother-in-law brought her computer by for me to work on with 3 100ml bottles of 101 turkey. What can I say, she works in a liquor store.

$55 is cheap enough if it's really good. I'm not a big Bourbon man, but the last bottle of J/W Black Label was around that. I guess it depends on what kind of drinker you are. If you like to drink, that's reasonable. If you like to get drunk, it's pretty pricey.

Where exactly is this new place in Bellevue? Gonna have to stop in and nose around.

Now I very rarely drink and do like to enjoy a good whiskey every now and then.$55 is reasonable

This is sipping and enjoying bourbon, not getting drunk bourbon. If I want to get lit I will stick with Jim Bean and diet coke.

The store is at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Old Hickory Blvd right behind the Exxon. It is in the old Rite Aid drug store location.

I found a bottle of the Bulleit at my local VA ABC store. I'm working on a Woodford Manhattan right now and then I have to feed my wife...but I'll give this one a pour a bit later.
