oh man, that's terrible. I will definitely keep him in my prayers, and hope for a speedy and full recovery. When he recovers, tell him thanks for his service and sacrifice to our country for me.

As an army vet, if he needs any help getting things done through the VA , don't hesitate to get a hold of me, and I'll be glad to help him out in any way. I know what forms, who to talk to, and how to get things done at the VA Hospitals. Someone helped me out when I got out, I'll be glad to help someone else out.

The V.A. can be a tricky and confusing obstacle course to navigate if you don't what to do or who to talk to or where to go. Once he recovers, please stress to him that before he signs any discharge papers, to go get a full physical, and he needs to list any pains in any of his extremities, anywhere in his body, no matter how minimal, any medical issues that have arisen, any sleep disorders (sleep apnia, insomnia) and to get a full mental evaluation done and to disclose anything that's bothering him at all. Depression, ptsd, anxiety, fear of something, emotional issues, whatever it is, and to make sure the Dr. documents it in his notes and to get copies of his past military medical records ASAP, and to get duplicate copies of everything currently going on with him up to the point of discharge. The military has a way of "losing" medical records, with no explanation as to how they disappear or where they went. Without those records, any claim he files with the Dept of Veterans Affairs will be denied.

No disability, no medical, no dental, no vision, no VA Voc Rehab, no GI Bill, or anything.
