My dad wants a compound bow for Christmas. This would be his first bow though he had some experience shooting when he was much younger. Is it possible for me to get something thats not a piece of junk for under 200$? Should I be looking at the used market?

Yeah, you could try Craigslist. But there are so many variables in selecting a bow, not the least of which is personal preference. The chances of finding him the perfect bow without him involved in the process is slim. Is there a local archery shop that you could get him a gift card to for Christmas? That'd be my recommendation.

Go to Bass Pro you an try bows out. I would go on a Mon night or something though. That place is probably crazy on the weekends!
