Machinists for a small one off project

Recommended Posts

I ordered a Viridian C5L for my HK P2000sk. Its the only light/laser thats out in the market right now that sits flush with then slide rather than sticking past it like the Insight, streamlight, and surefires. The problem that i see with the light is the rail mounts. It is made of plastic and is pretty small. There is a guy that got one for his p2000sk and he had problems with it holding zero and the mount holding tight. I wanted to know if there was a machinist in the nashville area that could machine a rail mount for me out of aluminum. Pretty much the same design as the existing one, but run the entire length of the rail and be made of aluminum. Anybody know a place that would take on a project like this? I know there are commercial machine shops that repair equipment and parts but this would be a small order and don't know if they would bother with something small like this

I don't know H&K's so I may be WAAAY off on this. Are you sure they are the same mount type? It was my understanding that H&K used a different style rail than a picatinny type. I accidentally bought a pistol light for an H&K and it was really wobbly on a picatinny rail. Looks like you've got the opposite. The accessory clamps are too small. I would check numbers to be sure I had the right model for the H&K.

***Edit, you could just buy a USP to Picatinny adapter like this one from Midway. No machinist is gonna do it for less money. Bet on that.
