Christmas shopping for son and want to get suggestions on range bag and hearing protection. He usually carries 2 pistols to the range with accessories. Help with brand and vendor appreciated. Also would like to upgrade him on ear protection as he currently just uses ear plugs. As always any help is appreciated.

I got one of these -

Competition Range Bag

It's worked out pretty well with a lot of pockets, two pistol bags and spots for a lot of mags.

The only issue I have had so far is a broken buckle on the shoulder strap. I think that was mainly because my Desert Eagle weighs too damn much.

I haven't tried to get it fixed yet since it just happened, but Midway is usually pretty good on fixing things.

The also have a more compact version for $10 less.

This is the bag I have. It's huge, can carry 2 guns, lots if ammo, and safety gear, lots of mag slots, and cleaning carry spots. Price is great too

If you want to carry a 3rd pistol I use this, and still fits in the range bag above.

Another vote for the awesome midway bag. If you do some searching via google you can usually find a code for $10 off a purchase greater than $50 on Midway.

As far as electronic hearing goes. I have these, Amazon.com: Howard Leight R-01526 Impact Sport Electronic Earmuff: Home Improvement

They work pretty great outdoors, indoors they can be a little loud sometimes. I would buy them again though.

Midway has good stuff. If you carry a Crew served weapon like the desert Eagle or MK-23 or multiple handguns you should look at the pack on the NRA site.

Cheers,

Tactical Pistol Gun Case

Yep, this range bag is the best bang for your buck. I got lucky finding out Midway had them on sale for $30.00 some time ago. Lots of room for everything and rugged.

As far as hearing protection, I use the Peltor 7S electronics to hear range commands from the S.O. shooting IDPA, they work well but after awhile as with any muff style they start to get uncomfortable. Most other times I use www.earplugsonline.com . Can wear them all day and forget they are there. A little gooey though.

I have one that came from Gander Mountain, that looks very similar to the Midway bag. I think it was like $25 and came with a pistol case too. It has held up very well and holds all my stuff. Lots of pockets inside and out. However, I can't seem to find it on their website right now. I think it is their own brand.
