Is it me or is there a media blitz on gun crimes lately?

I don't know how it is on the west side of the Appalachians but over here, on the east side, the media seems to be on an anti-gun blitz.

Every day they are reporting every time a gun crime takes place or a negligent incident happens. I get suspicious when I start seeing that.

I just wonder what the anti-2nd people are up to, they have not given up on banning firearms.

Be safe out there. Don't give'm any fuel to burn. I wish I could tell those crazy people that "if your going to commit a murder/suicide, do the suicide first!"

We're gettin a little bit of it over here too. My local rag, the Knoxville News Sentinel ran a guest op ed by a "contributor" who was "horrified that knoxville had turned into Dodge city because she saw a guy in a suit with an OWB holster and gun". She did the usual whining about not needing a gun; all in a location where was a heinous a crime committed as ever was perpetrated in Tennessee; and the perpetrators slated for a retrial. The article ran in last sunday's sentinel.

My guess is that it wont get too much traction here, even among the weak minded; but they always keep trying. I tend to think it is anti-gun "group think". Holder is takin a beating, Nobama is takin a beating, and the anti-2A douchbags are out trying to do their part to help them out.

Looks like it aint workin here. I drove by the local gunshow facility here in knoxville a few minutes ago (...about 10:45 or so...) and there was a line about 200 or so feet long watin to get in and the parking lot was overflowing. Looks to me like the knoxville news sentinel and their stinkin staff aint doin too good a job swaying local opinions. HEHEHE.

Just left a few minutes ago, line is basically same length (long) as when I arrived at 9:30am. The gunshow indeed is getting crowded today.

Bought a few pounds of powder from David, so happy.

And yes, the op-ed in the KNS was downright foolish.

of course the media's on an anti-gun blitz...less than a year till election time, and gun control legislation is always a hot topic during presidential elections.

Its always funny,A couple of weeks ago there was a article about this person was stabbed to death going to his vehicle.Of coarse it was a robbery victim.The part of the article I did not understand was the fact that these crimes could be lessened if guns were not easily available to young thugs.I wonder what they dont understand about the word (stabbed).

I think some of you are being a little oversensitive.

The "news media' is predominantly liberal leaning; sometimes VERY liberal leaning and most liberals are "anti-gun"; some are VERY so. It follows, then, that anytime a crime is committed with a gun involved or anytime they can run an opinion piece about the subject, the anti-gun bias is going to come through.

However, I very much doubt that the anti-gun rhetoric is significantly "more" right now than it has been or usually is...that may change as we get closer to 11/2012 of course!
