Opryland hotel parking

So wifey wants to go see the pretty lights, but me being the cheapskate I am, doesn't want to shell out the $20 for parking! (absolutely ridiculous to charge that for parking, but that's a whole nother can of worms). Anybody know of a free place to park that's closer than Opry Mills mall parking? I am more than willing to park there to save the money, but I am afraid she will not. Any help would be appreciated.

In weather like tonight or the next week, shell out the dough for your wife's comfort of warmth. Sometimes you may not want to do such things but you can let your position be known and tell her your giving in, thinking of her alone. Your cheap ways can be a plus for you.

However, if you park at the mall the walk is not that bad if you use the rear entrance near the roundabout. Go to the old theater area and then head like your exiting out the back of Opry towards Magavock Pike and there is parking there. I haven't been there in a while. During holidays they used to use part of that lot for employee parking. It gets really dark on that side and no security so you may feel on high alert walking through the trees on the walkway.

Best of luck in your adventures either way.

Like I said I haven't been in a while. Maybe the mall leaving has pushed out some of the riff-raff that would hang around dark corners like that area. Not sure. But $20 is a small price to pay for a more secure, well lit lot. A happy wife to boot? Sounds like a trip to the ATM for me but I'm not everyone else and to each their own. Saving $20 also sounds really nice, too.

I not so much worried about the safety, we will be going fairly early and Mr. Glock will be tagging along. I don't mind the walk and I don't think she will either if I can convince her it will put her in the Christmas spirit with the chill in the air.

Or, for the price of a bus ride (MTA), you can be dropped off at the Magnolia entrance (the Briley Parkway side). Just check MTA's website for a route map and a timetable, may or may not be convenient, but what the hey, it's worth a shot.....

park in the far end of the mall (next to where the old theme park was) not a bad walk worth saving the $$

+1. I used to park in that area before the flood and never had issues. The walk isn't bad at all either using that footpath that goes between the two and through a rear entrance to Opryland. Of course there was always lots of foot traffic between the parking lot and Opryland (even late at night) so it felt pretty safe, but I don't know what it looks like now. Is Opry Mills/Dave and Busters on that side even open yet?

Is that place posted? I know the stupid mall is. The wife wants to go see the lights. I'm not keen on going without my buddy.

Ha, as many times as I've been down there I've never checked. I know I'm always going to drink when I'm there!
