I most likely will be needing a FFL's services in the near future and don't know anyone here with one. Please pass along my contact info if you are a FFL holder, or know one. Thanks,

Joe

Most pawn shops are a FFL. There are several in Murfreesboro where I live and I sure there are a few in Clarksville. The going rate here is $20 for transfer and $10 for background check. $30 total, not bad. Don

Bunch of them in Clarksville. What part of town? I use an individual(friend) who has an FFL.

I'll drive wherever needed in Clarksville if the person is fair. $30 to me is fair, but the cheapest I have found at any of the local gunshops is $50 for the transfer, plus $10 for the background check. IMO that is outrageous. So anyways, if you have someone that is available my email is below. Semper Fi,

Tennessee Gun Country was too much? I thought they were around $25.

I know that Grandpa's had an outrageous transfer fee years back (the guy at the counter said $100) but I don't know if that was because he was in a bad mood or what. I've never gone back in there to find out.

Tennessee Gun Country will NOT do a transfer if it is a gun they can order. I'm not commenting on this, that's their business decision, but that leaves them out of the question for what I want.

Roger, I know they won't do them for new weapons but they'll do it for used.

Does anyone know of one in Murfreesboro? Used D&T today and they were $25 which is reasonable, but it's a 60-minute drive each way from home, so only worth it if I was going to be in the area. The two dealers around here are $35 and $45 plus the $10. If there's a guy getting started with a home FFL or what not and his price is fair, I'd give him my business.

How far are you from Guns and Leather? I've used them and they're pretty user friendly.

About the same. Give or take an hour.

There's actually a shop in Jackson (Great Outdoor Store), where I am now and then, that does them for $25. Just didn't know if there were any guys trying to get started in the area. If nothing else I'll go to the Great Outdoor Store.

We charge $10 transfer fee for TGO members. You need to let us know that you are a TGO member though.

I guess that is my fault for not telling the guy behind the counter explicitly. I mentioned that I read a lot of good about you guys on TGO and that was why I made the drive, but when he scanned the barcode for the transfer, it rang up $25 and he didn't say anything, so I figured that was correct.

For the TGO fee, I could "justify" the gas and time next time I need a transfer. Do I just tell them at the counter when I get to the shop?

P.S. when I was in there the other night, I bought some snap caps and asked about a 1" light clamp but he said you had just sold the last one. So I will find other things to buy when I'm in there too ;-)

Thanks

Edit: P.S. the guys that were working in there Saturday night around 8:30 were real polite and seemed knowledgeable. Good guys.

They do it for $30. It's on the bypass near the intersection of Edmondson Ferry Rd.
