Looking to upgrade from the Glock 26. Wanting a .45 that I can carry, so probably a compact. Open to any suggestions. Would love a 1911 and don't wanna break the bank, but I also like the XD. Thoughts?

I have just purchased a metro arms 1911 four inch for less that $500. I was the same about breaking the bank. I have only run about 30-40 rnds thru it due to time but like the way it shoots better than my EDC XD40. Have not shot the Xd45 but going to the Inlaws for Xmas and David has one that I will get to try out. Will let you know in a few weeks.

XD45c works for me. But then again any of the plastic guns will work. What ever fits your hands the best.

What do you plan to use it for?

I have quite a few 1911s...I love 1911s...I carry a Glock.

Glocks aren't pretty but they almost always go "bang" when you pull the trigger plus for the money, they are hard to beat.

I too vote for the G30 (and I have one).

My XD45 is almost four years old. It's been dependable and shoots any ammo I've bought or reloaded. I like the thirteen round capacity.

I love the m&p .45c. I think it' a bit larger than a g26..... Similar to a g19. Very easy to conceal in the winter

This. However, I find the 45c just as easy to conceal in the summer with shorts and a T shirt. The right holster and belt make all the difference.

+ 1 for the Kahr cw45. For the size, weight, and price it is a good deal. I also own a xd 45 and it is a great gun just a little heavy for carry for me. Glocks are good too I have a 19 never tried their 45.

I am going to throw in the Taurus PT145. The one I have is inexpensive accurate and reliable. It has a 10 + 1 capacity. Is it the "best", I don't know but I have been impressed.

Dude you have a p245 and a cs45? Have you ever heard of sharing?

LOL these are my last to go guns. The cs 45 is way underated and still affordable $500 ish. The grips are not for everyone but the delrin grips can change that

BTW also have detonics combatmaster. I'm have a compact 45 fetish :D
