How does one get started in competitive shooting sports?

Hey Murg- back to your question - we are shooting USPSA this Saturday (the 17th) at ORSA. Bring your G19, a holster (though I may have one laying around if you need to borrow one) 2 mag pouches, 4 mags, and 150-200 rounds of 9mm out to the range. You will be equipped just fine. The weather is going to be great and you will be smiling all day long. WARNING-it is addictive.

Can't use them, my fingers just don't work well enough."WHAT! hell i was looking for some schooling from you at the next one! now whats the point of driveing way over there! :)Jonnin: even if that shotgun runs i would not recommend it to any one. there way to many rules out there, he could be easly get bump to open because it can hold more than 8 in the tube. i have only seen posted feed back. at last years PRO/AM it was written there was 1 at the match and got off 3 shots and it was done with 2 more days left.and i understand it-its a 18"cyl bore, just me

good point, ive been in open so long I was not thinking about it. I want to try one, but so far have not even seen one for sale...

Not to resurrect an older thread, but no need to start a new one either. I did my 1st IDPA today with ORSA. The people up there are AWESOME. I can't wait to go back. Even after we were done, I was ready to shoot it all over again. Its gonna be a long month wait...

Gallatin Gun Club is next weekend(Saturday) and Music City Tactical Shooters is on the third Saturday. It really is not that far of a drive for GREAT quality matches(nothing taken away from ORSA as they are a quality club, they just shoot on the same weekend as our matches and I can not take away from our club to visit another).
