Yep, I'm voting Ron Paul too. OS, ya might as well go vote for RP even if it is futile. You know you want to! :) Its not like he has any chance of winning and implementing foreign policy if you are among those who don't like his foreign policy.

Think I heard of a recent survey showing Santorum well ahead here in TN. Wouldn't be surprising if Santorum takes TN since Huckabee took it last time. OTOH Huckbee was "slightly social conservative" but at least Huckabee was not a complete goober. That last election cycle ddn't really have any R's worth bothering to vote for except Paul. Can't recall if Paul was still actively campaigning last Super Tuesday but as best can recall voted Paul 2008. Can't recall fer sure. Old age is a wonderful thing. Voted Bob Barr libertarian in the general. Didn't like either McCain or Obama enough to "waste" a vote on pragmatism.

I don't get out much to look for bumper stickers, but in the 2008 election cycle, had observed Ron Paul bumper stickers on a couple of young black men's automobiles in Red Bank. Seemed a little encouraging at the time.

I don't like Romney, but other than Ron Paul have about decided he's the only R candidate I could stand to vote for in the general. Definitely couldn't vote in good conscience Gingrich or Santorum regardless of how much Obama needs to go. Would 99 percent be inclined to vote llibertarian instead. With Obama vs Romney, at least right now it looks like maybe a 50/50 chance I could hold my nose and vote Romney rather than libertarian. Assuming Romney doesn't swing crazy to the left campaigning in the general (and assuming Romney gets the nomination).

I would hope Paul would come out and endorse one of the candidates, be it Romney or whoever when the time comes.

I believe there are many hardcore Paul supporters, maybe like those waving the signs, that do not see the importance of getting BHO out of office. If Paul does endorse the nominee hopefully his followers will do the same in the General.

Meh. Precinct is all the way across the street from my apt. complex, 300 yards away. :)

Hope TN doesn't give all the delegates to Pope Boy, though, that would be embarrassing. Ironic that he'll get much of the fundamentalist vote, when half of them don't even think Catholics are proper Christians. Of course, if he can't get back into Congress post 2012, he'll just be a lawyer lobbyist or something, probably in the same way he rants against now.

Y'all decide. Won't matter anyway -- barring the ultimate longshot of a bartered convention with a totally new player emerging, it's gonna be Romney vs O eventually, like I've always maintained.

Ron, Newt or Rick will ensure a landslide victory for O. If Mitt can get Rubio to join him, the GOP has a decent shot -- could conceivably even be a cakewalk depending on economy and whether O steps on his goober some more from now on in, when folks are paying more attention.

Hi OS

Yup as predicted, apparently goober wins TN. Such a shame you didn't vote. Ron Paul was so tantalizingly close to winning TN. If you had only voted, it would have put us over the top! :)

Yep, it was so close that I was a little excited over how well he was doing.

Everybody still kicking and screaming for the "not Mitt" candidate, but it's an inevitable grind, and Mitt's the only one of the bunch who can beat O.

You gotta remember that much of the electorate that's willing to vote against O are still socialist liberals compared to much of the south, or certainly TGO denizens.

Big worry at this point is the process, and whether Mitt having to slowly pound it out will diminish his overall preference in the general.

I keep hearing Romney say he will repeal Obamacare, will allow Keystone to start, will

kill the death and alternative minimum tax, and so on. If he is the last man standing,

he gets my vote. Doesn't mean I trust him. He has to deliver. That also means a majority

house and senate is necessary.

Where, oh where is Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan?

Hi Mav

Yep, it was a real nail-biter. Right down to the wire. Practically a photo-finish. If only OS and Dolomite had turned out we could have taken it all!!!

Romney is seriously lagging with a mere 386 delegates. On the other hand, Ron Paul is surging ahead with more than 40 delegates!

Finally we have Romney right where we want him. Slow and steady just like the tortoise and the hare. A grueling national campaign must rely on careful strategic pacing. Like a champion marathon runner.

We must not show our hand or pull ahead of the pack too soon. Conserve energy for the final sprint. Hang back for a few more state elections. At the final moment when it is least expected, Ron Paul will put the pedal to the metal and pop the nitrous on his political hotrod. Leaving all competition in the dust. They won't even know what hit them! :)

 looks pretty grim for the Doctor.

Couldn't win VA with only him and Romoney on the ticket. What's that tell ya?

That we are up the creek without a paddle? That it's hopeless the american voter would ever elect a libertarian? That gradual unstoppable decline -- The same wrong-headed policies administered by both democrats and republicans-- Will be our inevitable demise? A death of a thousand cuts? :)

Yes, afraid so.

I was hoping Romney would take TN and then we could get down to the real campaign. Now, it's back to more infighting. Obama must be loving every second of this.

If the Republican base can't stand Mitt, how are independants expected to love him all of a sudden and carry him to the White House? To be so close and yet so far must be taking a physical & mental toll on him. I fear Obama will simply cruise into the debates and just wear Mitt out.

If Romney can pull this off, I think my respect level for him will jump several notches based solely on his superhuman endurance.

I think there are many bases in the GOP right now. Mitt is appealing to the big business, and big money types (those that have, and those that envy them. The types that spent mightily to put in the Governor, and our Senators.) Santorum is appealing to the Religious Right. Paul seems to be getting a lot of the pro-gun, libertarian view.

None seem to be getting much of the blue collar, I worked hard to get what I got, and don't like it when you give it away, Republicans.

Turn out is not been high. This smacks of 4 more O...

And that is the problem. The Repulicans who claim to represense "conservative" ideals have had 4 years to figure all this out. The past 6 months have been a disaster for that party and anyone who wants to see O out of office. Every day it's been something different from a wide array of mediocre at best candidates. Now there's talk of that twit Palin trying to get back in the race.

The Dems are licking their chops because Obama will get another term.

If and when the Republican party can ever pull themselves together and 1) Made good on their promises, 2) Learn a little something about the American people (half this country is Democratic) and how to sway them, and 3) Most importantly, stop harping on social issues...they will regain power.

If the election happened today, I would vote for Newt for a couple of reasons. I don't like Romney much more than Obama, and newt is probably the only one that can beat him. And Newt, like him or not, is probably smarter than the rest. I like Ron Paul the best, but don't think he can pull it off.

Amazing how much our opinions have changed over the last year.
