Well, since you missed Black Friday...you could have gotten B1G1 half off at Dick's on 250 round packs of Remington UMC and if you were savy enough (and mostly had a store that would price match) they would match Walmart for $77 and some change and you could have gotten 500 rounds for $120 + tax and $0.20 ammo tax. But that was only for .40 and that deal has passed so...it's pretty much a waiting game to see who will put ammo on sale. You can find it online but realistically, you'd be better off just buying at Walmart after you include shipping costs. My 2 cents is that I buy all my target ammo at Walmart or while it's B1G1 half off at Dick's and then buy all my self defense ammo online.

I work retail and can't really shop on black Friday. And no savings is worth a confrontation with some pushy over zealous shopper.

I was at Walmart today and went on and bought 100 rounds of .40 fmc and 100 of .45 and 50 .45 jhp and still came out better than that price.

Another option is to buy bulk ammo with people and split the shipping. For example: I was just looking at buying some 9mm BVAC from Surplus Ammo & Arms. Since I'm no longer down the road from them, I have to ship:( If other people jump in the order, the price of shipping will go down. Enough people ordering enough ammo and you're looking at $5-15 for shipping. That would put the 1k of 9mm I'm looking at around $170, no tax. The hard part is finding people close enough to you and trusting them (or them trusting you) with the money. That's where feedback, reputation, etc come into play. Just something to think about.....(I live in W. TN :))

scoutfsu, if I had the money right now I'd so be all over ordering some 9mm with you! I'm just broke right now from trying to pay off new baby bills, ordering the rest of the stuff for my ar, and Christmas. Maybe we can get together later on and order some when I have money?

If your Walmart has the new 100 round boxes of Federal in stock, they have 9mm for $19.97 (not the best price but still good) and .40 for $24.97 (amazing price considering WWB is $31.97 for 100 rounds and Remington is $36.97 for 100 rounds). So far, I've not been able to beat that price in a store for .40.

Sure, just get back to me anytime. It sucks paying that much up front but IMO, with ammunition, it's always better to save up and buy in bulk. You'll save more in the long run. I think WWB 9mm @ Walmart runs around $23 a box. Multiply that by 10 and then add taxes. By ordering 1k lots (or even splitting that with a friend) you're saving yourself at least $60. Even if it takes you a year to shoot it, in my book, $60 saved is $60 saved. I would assume the same for .40 and every other caliber.

@wcsc12 - Are you saying that there are 100rd boxes of 9mm for $20? I haven't seen that @ my walmart. I remember before my 1st deployment when a 100rd box of WWB was $11. When we got back, the price had jumped to $18ish:down:

Yuppers 100% sure. They have them at a bunch of Walmarts here in Knoxville now but they are rolling them out slowly and there's some dude around here that keeps clearing their inventory. He came into the Walmart on Clinton Hwy and bought every box they had for 2 months straight of 9mm. The easiest way to tell is look for the tag on the shelf. It will be for $19.97. If they have the tag up, ask them if they have any down below the counter or in the back.

I think 100 round boxes of WWB are like $22 or $23 a box now so it's a pretty good deal but that .40 is where it's at. I'm hoping they do the same with 45 ACP so my friend can get some cheaper than the WWB.
