Yeah, it didn't seem American at all. Anybody familiar with the shell/fan array stamp at the butt? The release button is really smooth for 60-odd years. Like it's been soaking in oil ever since, but with no dripping.

No idea. I talked to him about carrying tonight, since he doesn't. I told him he's never seen me without one in over ten years. He was stunned. Said he really wanted to get his permit, which I don't believe. So with that, I'm sure he'll keep these two stickers because he has nothing in the house to use, and knowing his wife, WON'T be getting anything else.

the short one is a Mauser bayonet , long one is an Arisaka I believe.

The long one is just some crap ceremonial deal. The 'edge" is almost 3/16" and with no distinguishing marks.

It's a K98 Bayonet made by the Carl Eickhorn company in 1936.

From what I seen they are pretty neat, but not extremely valuable. You will run across quite a few of these on ebay. Typically the bayonet and matching #s scabbard sells a little less than $150.

I'd say the long one is some sort of military infantry hanger (short sword carried by a infantry NCO in the 18th and 19th centuries) or a hunting sword of some type. The short blade is a modified bayonet (probably Mauser). Could these be bring backs from WWII? The long one if authentic could be worth some money. Not sure about the bayonet.

Are there any identifying marks on the longer one at all. I dont thinks its a ceremonial sword, it would likely be a little more ornate. Having such a blunted edge and and no visible markings reminds me of some of the training weapons of the WW1 WW2 era.
