Range for Shotgun Training in Middle TN?

I humbly apologize if this topic has been covered before, but I tried a search to no avail. So here goes.

I have a shotgun for home defense (in addition to the pistols), but just cannot find a place to train with it. I live near J. Percy Priest reservoir, but (apparently) the TWRA range requires a valid firearms instructor present before they allow shotguns to be fired there.

I say apparently because the G&L instructor told us that in the Level II class I took there.

Does anyone know of a place relatively close to Nashville (say a 15-20 mile radius) that I could train on my own?

Thanks.

I agree with Bassman, there is not a good range area, that I've been able to find. There are a couple of ranges, like the Montgomery County one, that you can shoot skeet or trap but that is NOT the same thing as shooing practice at a silhouette target, at a nearer distance, and not using bird shot.

That dedicated shotgun range I mentioned at Mgm county is a fixed paper target "silhouette" range. It's right next to the 400-yard benchrest range. I has seed it with my own eyes, ...seen it used even.

I talked to Charlie about this the last time I was down at CHMR. I have a shotty I need to pattern for turkeys. He said no problem. Just call ahead and make sure the upper range isn't in use. That's the small one up by his house. If it's available, then he'll setup some cardboard to shoot at. He just asked that shottys not be used on the OSB/Plywood since it's more expensive and the shot tears it up pretty quick.
