More CR goodness.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find decent prices on the one-piece Chris Reeve knives. Due to the discontinuance of the line, demand and prices have skyrocketed. I often run across cases in which the prices are just obscene. Every now and then you can find one for a good price. Being somewhat of a fan of CR blades, when I run across those deals I usually buy it.

I stumbled across a good deal on another one-piece that I did not have. I got a Sable IV, which is not the sexiest of the one-piece designs, but it is one of the more practical and versatile of the line.

Specs:

Overall length: 10.5"

Blade length: 5.5"

Weight: 11.5 oz.

While I really like the knife, I do not care so much for the sheath. There is very little retention. If I ever decide to carry it on any outdoor excursions I will order a different sheath for it.

The blade shape on the Sable doesn't' do a lot for me, even though I can see it being fairly practical in use. But, those one piece handles are another story. I've always thought the CR one piece handles are some of the best handles out there. I don't know what kind of knurling tool he uses, but they've always felt great in the hand.

Congrats on a nice find.

Well.. I finally found one of these at a decent price. It seems the 4" one piece knives are in very high demand. I can only attribute this to being able to legally carry it and/or conceal it. This was the first knife I saw in the one piece range that made me want to get one. I will definitely have to get a new sheath for this one. I do not wear 2" belts, so this is a no go for me.

You have it bad man! Congrats

I did this last month. I picked up 11 new knives. 4 Chris Reeves, 5 ZTs, and 2 Kershaws.

Next month I will be bitching that I am not saving enough.

Ya know, I really do like these knives. This is a Mountaineer I. I really like the single guard on this one.
