I just ordered my first 1911, after much reading of posts and forums. I decided to go with a Metro Arms 1911 Commander from Buds. I have always wanted a 1911 and will have one in a few days. Pics to come when I get it here.

Warning!!!!!!!! Another soon to be infected by the almost irreversible curse of the 1911. Just kidding. Most that own one, don't own JUST one.

owned it, and never should have sold it. Good choice.

I have over 2,000 trouble free rounds through mine. The slide to frame fit was better than my Colt and Metro outshot it as well. Because it is my carry gun I did replace all the internals with forged parts but the MIM parts shouldn't be an issue. Most manufactuers now use MIM parts in their pistols.

My only complaint was the bluing was a bit thin. But other than that it has been a great pistol. Anyone who has seen it knows how hard I am on it.

Good for you. Everyone should own and shoot at least one good quality 1911 format pistol so that they know how to run one. Beside's they're fun to shoot and you have selected a good one, enjoy it.

Congrats on your first 1911. We look forward to hearing a range report. This will be likely the first of several, as the 1911 is highly addictive.

Hey man I just did the exact same. Well done my friend. I picked mine up on Tuesday from my ffl.

A little over a year ago I had one 1911. Now I have 3

And I'm always looking for my next one.

Congrats on the new purchase, its a wonderful platform (as many have already stated).

UPS says mine will be at ffl on Monday so maybe I can sneak outta work early so I can pick up before they close and get to range.

1911s are great guns. I love my XD and XDm but my carry gun is a Kimber Ultra Carry II. It's just hard to beat how that 100 year old design shoots. Congrats on yours.

Range report Metro Arms 1911 Classic Commander. I love it. After a little more range time may become my EDC. First 8 rounds. b8290337-8648-9486.jpg
