Should already be legal. We need something that looks at your car the same as your home.

Exactly this. What is inside your car should be your domain, regardless of where the car happens to be parked. If it comes out of my car on someone else's property then it becomes their business. If it stays in my car - within my domain where I am the 'property owner' - then it should be legally none of their business.

This is what I mean by extending the castle doctrine to your car. The last time they tried this it got lost in a property rights dispute. I think that this is the approach we should take to get it passed.

It would be nice for them to expand on this by allowing you to at least keep your firearm in your vehicle on a college campus. Even though I live 2 miles from campus, a lot of bad things can go wrong between home and school, and I shouldn't have to be subjected to being without my firearm in between.
