Rem JHP and Golden Saber use same/similar load data?

Midwayusa had what seemed like a decent price on Rem 9mm 124gr JHP in lots of 2000 and I ordered some. Not incredibly more expensive than Rainier plated bullets. Lots cheaper than XTP. I like XTP but they are a little pricey for thumb-fingered recreational target shooting.

Also got some Rainier 9mm 124 gr round nose for $84 per thousand that ain't too shabby a price maybe.

Having bought a few pounds of Ramshot powder awhile ago, was pleased to see that Ramshot's current downloadable load documentation actually has recommended loads, OAL, and velocity ranges for Rainier plated bullets. Rainier officially just says "use lead bullet load data" so in the past it required some guestimation about OAL and max/min powder weight for Rainier, trying to find a lead bullet that looked kinda-sorta the same shape as the equivalent Rainier bullet. Have lately read that if you call Rainier the nice people on the phone will make specific recommendations, but never thought to do that in the past.

Icing on the cake, the Ramshot 9mm loads are based on the Federal primers I use.

The Ramshot doc also has data for Rem 124 gr Golden Saber. Nice. But no listing for generic Rem JHP. Oh well.

Reckon the Rem 124 gr JHP is close enough to 124 gr Golden Saber to use the exact same min, max, and OAL? The bullets look pretty similar--

What do ya'll think?

Thanks Grunt67 and dlm37015

They do look awfully similar but there is that saying about what can happen when we "assume", so figgered it wouldn't hurt to ask. Googled some but couldn't find any previous gun-nut thread about reloading Golden Saber vs generic Rem JHP.

The max velocity for the Ram Shot Golden Saber load data ain't super-fast, so there seems little risk that a similar looking generic JHP from the same company might melt the barrel, vaporize from air friction, or accidentally enter low-earth orbit. :(

If I was smart, should have ordered a box of generic Rem JHP 124 gr factory ammo along with the bullets.

Only time I tried monkey-see-monkey-do matching was against factory XTP 124gr rounds. That worked good. The OAL of the factory XTP ammo was exactly the same as Hornady's published reloading OAL for that bullet. It was good verification that:

-1- My OAL was the same as factory stuff

-2- Velocity was the same without exceeding the powder's published max load

-3- No obvious signs of over-pressure in the fired brass
