The boonies of TN are full of towns with fancy European names. :(

I always think of all the ancient Greek ones; but most towns are named for other towns, not whole countries. That's really overreaching, IMO. :)

Maybe they should rename their town Copenhagen so as to not appear so haughty.

They could vote on that, all 30 of them I guess. :)

Reminds me of story I've heard about Blaine back in 70's I think, had a big hissy fit that apparently started over the electric bill for the ballfield, somehow evolved to a referendum as to whether they were going to stay Blaine (already unincorporated) or just be nothing, take down the signs I guess. Supposedly it was a pretty close vote, but they had to stay Blaine.

I always thought it was strange that West TN seems to get more snow than the rest of the state(minus the mountains).

And I had to google Denmark TN to find out where it was, same county as Jackson.

West Tennessee minus Memphis. Every snow event on this side of the state, Memphis gets a lot less or none at all. Some of it is the "heat island" effect, but for whatever reason, Memphis just gets less.

It would have been crazy if the temperatures had been cold for an extended period of time when this thing came through. As hard as it snowed, even here in Memphis, and as long as it came down, it could have been a snow near historic records, and definitely records for November.

Side note, the last time Memphis got any type of snow in November was.......2010! There were some flurries on Nov 23 (I think that was the day) last year!

It was snowing last night in murfreesboro at 1:30 am when i took a break from doing homework to make a much needed caffeine run to fuel an hours worth of studying before u hit the sack.

According to the weather man, it was supposed to be a warmer than usual winter this year. If i had more mathematical aptitude i'd have been a meteorologist so i could get paid $100,000+ to be wrong 90% of the time B)

I thought Memphis got snow last winter? Back in January or Februray. I remember seeing pictures and I thought you mentioned on here that your Jeep went through it like it was nothing.

We did get snow last year, several times, which is more than usual, but the amounts compared to the rest of the West TN was much less and less often. We were actually able to sled last year. I'm hoping for a repeat this year.
