Horsehide has pores that are closer together than cowhide so it is less affected by moisture (sweat) Somepeople think cowhide feels softer though.

I have had a number of them over the years. Horsehide is worth the extra money. The #3 for a polymer frame gun is a winner.

You will not wear one out.

I have one on now. Makes my 5 inch 1911 pretty much disappear. I sprung for the horseide because i come from a long line of sweaty people

Come to think of it, I have one in cowhide also. I much prefer the horsehide. I waited a couple of weeks for mine, but that was years ago.

I have one for my S&W CS 45 great holster for the little compac I lucked out and found mine on GB got it and a OWB for about the price of one new one
