When Colt first introduced the series 70, they weren't exactly flush with cash, but they did have some left over parts from prior production. Specifically, they had a few hundred Service Model Ace frames. So a small batch of these will be serial numbered a little differently...

This gun is new-no box. The prior owner owned a gun store in Minden Louisiana which he closed in 1974. After the fire sale, all unsold guns went into his safe. However, he didn't save the boxes. I picked this gun up and several others from his son.

It's a rare varient of an otherwise pedestrian Colt. I sold it on GB in 2005

I was sorting out some old photos and discs and came across this gun. My records indicate I sold this gun to a former PA State LEO, retired and living here in TN. The pistol shipped to an FL holder in Jackson, TN 5/05 from Denver CO.
