I'be got a 22 win mag that works pretty well out to about 75 yards. Otherwise an ar15 or similar will have plenty of snap with the right optics. My vote would be to get great optics and an average gun. Unless you have unlimited budget.

GreAt advice. The average rifle will shoot consistent up to 200 yards with some fine tuning, where good optics don't need adjusting very often in day to day handling.
