I have owned trucks with the plastic and with sprayed liners (not sure which brand). The plastic liners are slick surface and things tend to slide around too much. I have seen trucks where the plastic liners trap moisture and crude underneath that started rusting the bed. Plastic liners also rattle around and are noisy (not that the Cummins diesel is quite).

I had the bed of my Raptor done with Line-X Premium about 6 months ago and it looks brand new despite the truck being used as a truck. I had Line-X of Franklin do mine but I heard that the guys at the Line-X franchise in Madison, TN will do it for a little cheaper price.

I have called Line X of Franklin, Nashville and even Bowling Green. They were all within 20 dollars of each other. Franklin the cheapest. I will give Madison a call to see what they can do.

Thanks

I would stay away from Line X of Madison.

I had them do a liner in the back of my work truck. It looked okay (for the most part) when it was new, but it has not held up well at all. It's peeling in multiple places, and you can see where it has peeled that the paint it bright and shiny underneath, which indicates that they did no prep work. I did quite a bit of research on liner companies, as I'm planning to have some body panels on my truck done. The #1 thing I kept finding was that preparation would make or break any brand of liner, and was the most important thing. The guys in Madison didn't do any prep work that I can find. As a result, my liner is peeling out. They also the inside of one of the doors. It looked awful when they first did it, and has not gotten better. It doesn't even look like liner, it looks like someone use 2 year old spray paint out of a rattle can. It's thick and chunky in a spot or two, and barely resembles overspray in others.

Yes, I am aware that Line X offers a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, this is a work truck that I have to have every day. I simply haven't had the opportunity to strip it all back down and be without it for a week or so to have the liner repaired. Besides, I really have no reason to believe it would be correctly repaired if I were to take it back to them. They would probably simply respray the peeling places, which in my opinion is a sub-par solution. Since you can easily see that no prep work was done, the right fix would be to remove the entire liner, prep it properly, and respray. If they didn't have the time to do it right the first go round, I doubt they have the ethics to do it right the second.

I like the Line X product. I just can't recommend the Madison Line X dealer.

Madison is Line-X of Nashville. Since your truck is new, I'd call the dealer and ask them who they farm their work out to. Then get them to refer you to that Line-X franchise as you'll likely get a cheaper rate.

I second this, My Raptor was done with Line X Premium color matched through Two Rivers Ford, they charged me $600.00 I was quoted much more when calling on my own

Years ago when I bought my Dodge Ram I had it Rhino Lined right away. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. The bed itself gets dented up from thrown stuff back there and hauling various things whereas a plastic liner protects the bed better from being dented, but I don't care about that. It cleans up real nice and doesn't scratch easily, so all you see are the dents from throwing logs and such in the back. The Rhino liner is tough and has a "tacky" enough coating that things don't slide around the way it would with a plastic liner. Plus it's smoother than a plastic liner so if you happen to sleep back there on occassion or um... engage in certain activities with lady friends back there, it's a lot more comfortable than a plastic liner with high ribbing on it. I could be talking out my a$$ here, but I thought Line-X dries as a hard plastic (not rubbery) when they put it in. Am I thinking of another spray on liner?

FWIW, the pickup trucks I have seen that work FOR the spray liner companies don't have them. They have the plastic liners.

That says something to me... :)

It says that they are too cheap to spend the time and money on spraying trucks that they are going to beat the **** out of for a few years and then sell. They don't care about their trucks.

I got my truck sprayed at Line-X in Nashville in the RIvergate area . I think it is the Line-X of Nashville one. They did a great job ! I love Line-X . My brother has the same truck as mine and he got his done there too. Both of our trucks are now 8 yrs old and they are holding up fine . I have hauled all kinds of crap in mine and no problems.

All options considered I think Line X is the product for me. I may hold off until after x-mas to see if they run any specials. Right now the average costs between the 3 Line X shops I called was $500 for standard coating bed only. Still contacting the dealer....
