Mosin Nagant with serial # 107 ???

I won't say where, but I found a 1943 mosin (not a hex, not a tula) and its serial number is 107. Is that worth $100?

It does have a place where it has been repaired under the stock behind the trigger guard. I already have a mosin, but hell if a 107 is something rare or special I'll pick it up.

At this point I would say most any mosin in decent shape is worth $100. Is the serial number preceded by letters or anything like that? Who is the maker, ishveck? Any odd markings? I have a 1939 ishveck and its 41XX, and a double dated MO ex sniper and its BC then a 3 digit that escapes me. I doubt the 107 is special but some of the prefixes mean things like ex sniper. If you're really protective of it pm me whatever info you have and I might be able to dig something up. I have no idea who sells guns in greeneville and no intention of driving there for a mosin!

Mosins do not have consecutive serial numbers as we understand them. In the case of WWII manufactured stuff they used the two letter prefix in conjuction with up to 4 digits to denote year and month. AFAIK it is impossible to decipher the exact born on date based on the system, but there was an order to it.

Without knowing the manufacturer or anything of the like, I'd say as long as it's not totally beat up (and the bore is decent) its worth $100 any day. Tula isn't really worth much more, just a hair rarer, some of the other manufacturers can be worth a bit more such as remington. Go here if you think it might be something special, and check out the markings: 7.62x54r.net

I dunno that i would pay much more than a hundred for a 91/30.

If the damage to the stock is only cosmetic i would not worry about it.
