HAM? TURKEY?, OR?

For us it'll be turkey cooked in the smoker grill using cherry wood and maybe a couple of chunks of mesquite for smoke and hard apple cider in the drip pan.

If I get real energetic and manage to get the new goat shelter finished (damn rain!) tomorrow morning, then I might walk up the ridge with the .22 tomorrow afternoon and nail a couple of grey squirrels to stuff the turkey with. (Clean 'em, rinse 'em good, then salt them down and put a couple of strips of bacon in the body cavity, then double them over and cram 'em in the bird - MMMMMmmm!)

im pretty much numb to oven baked turkey. year after year after year after endless year its the same thing over and over. tgiving dinner with mom and dad and little brother, sit around eat, watch football.

guess I like variety, trying to talk the family into going to Colorado next year to see some of our other relatives we haven't seen in awhile and enjoy the majestic Rocky Mountains while we're at it.

There's "probably" turkey in them dogs somewhere....can't say which part though.

I really tried to talk her into chili dogs and junkyard fries for thanksgiving but she would not hear it.

Maybe I've led a sheltered life, foodwise, anyway. But I've never been around a turducken or known anyone who has prepared and served one. Seems like almost all the references I've heard about it have been on tv. What's it like? Any comments?
