Firearm records?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I want to start a record for my guns, not of round counts but serial numbers, descriptions, information I'd need for insurance or the police if they were stolen. I was thinking: make, model, serial number, any modifications, distinctive markings, am I missing anything else? And I do plan on keeping pictures of the guns in addition to the information written down.

That's cool but I'd rather not use the computer for this.

I use Gunsafe as well as a filefolder in my file box that holds my paper records. In the file folder I keep the original purchase receipt. If the receipt does not have a serial number I write it down. One gun purchase the only receipt I got was a basic cash register receipt. I taped that to an 8.5X11 sheet of paper and wrote all pertinant info down on it. I dunno if pics are really any help.
