A question has been raised.............

I have listed a complete AR lower with lower LPK and buttstock, question has been presented as to whether it needs posted in the firearms classified or gear classified. I should have asked earlier, but I was a bit anxious to get it sold to fund another project and posted it in the gear classified. Please let me know if need to change listing area, and if so, how?

Not for arguments sake, but it is not a firearm except in the eyes of the ATF as the registerable

part. It cannot be fired as a gun until components are added. If you wish to go with the ATF designation,

that's fine, but it isn't a firearm. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but it's like selling the rubber band for

a slingshot. It wouldn't matter to me where it is, though. I just view a firearm as a complete gun, and not

for the sake of the ATF. A piece to a puzzle.

I think the point is that there are legal ramifications and regulations that are tied to a firearm that do not apply to firearm parts.

It is a firearm. It is serialized.

My XD barrels and slides are serialized, too.

More importantly, it is a receiver (and serialized), which BATF says must be sold as firearm.

You guys should be lawyers. You've managed to take something pretty simple and easy and made some kinda of technically ambiguous issue out of it. We were talking about a serialized AR receiver.;)
