I was just let go from my employer of nearly 5 years. This is the first time ever been let go. So if anyone knows of a place that needs a outstanding forklift operator, give me a shout. I'm not gonna be picky about a job, I'll take what ever I can get. I have resume and would like to work as close to home as possible, but anywhere within 25 miles of Hermitage/Donelson area would be great.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Hey sorry to hear that. We relocated here in June for my wifes company and I had to walk away from my job. I took that first job I could find at a large pay cut. But I have been applying to at least 1 or 2 a week and still not been able to get on at any place else. I would say start hitting the internet and its a #'s game the more you put out the more chances of finding a job.

Oh, and I live in Donelson too! And will keep my eyes out for you.

They will hire direct but if you want to check them out, they do a lot of temp to hire as well so both sides are protected. 773-9292 and ask which temp services they are currently using.

Well, so far I have applied for 3 or 4 different places. The one that looks really promising is delivery driver for Domino s Pizza. I know its not a glorious job by any means, but its better than sitting on unemployment.

I willing to guess that they have the typical weapons policy of NO WEAPONS. I'll probably not mention the HCP to them and test the waters in the future. I'll probably have something in my vehicle at the minimum.

I supervise several restaurants. And it amazes me how hard it is to find decent people. And I'm not just referring to cook/driver positions. I mean management also. Seems like we are always looking for somebody. But we are mainly based in Northeast Tn and Southwest Va.

And by the way, you will not catch me without a CCW. Currently is's a USPc, sometimes a Glock, occasionally a Sig of some sort. Just whatever the mood strikes me.

Check with Vi-Jon in Smyrna. I strongly suggest a visit in person, and ask them either for an application or a reference for whichever temp agency they are using now. They have a massive warehouse off of Couchville Pike (Mt. Juliet area) and also a large warehouse and manufacturing facility near the airport in Smyrna. Both make heavy use of skilled towmotor drivers and both facilities run 24/7.

As long as you are punctual, reliable and flexible -- meaning willing to work a lot of hours -- they will keep you very busy. My neighbor has driven a towmotor for them for years now and I worked there briefly as part of the IT department a few years ago. Not a bad company but it's not going to make you rich by a long shot.

They are located at 1 Swan Drive in Smyrna. They used to use All-Pro Staffing, but I have no idea if that's still the case.

Well for now I'm going to be working at Domino's Pizza, while continuing to look for something better/else.

Take advantage of LinkedIn and work it!

Don't assume it's only for "white collar" types, it all about networking with folks you know and can meet.

In the last 3 days, I was able to get 2 leads getting back into my industry.
