What kinda work is also important. Some guys are 1911 wizards, others can do wonders with a wheel gun, and some are just good, but not necessarily amazing, at everything.

I've seen Sam Hoster's and Chad Kandros's work on 1911s and they do great things. I'm not familiar with their skills on other platforms.

RIGHT! It's important to know what you want worked on. Now being as you are in east TN, if it's wheelguns your into, THE MAN of revolvers is pretty close. None other than Hamilton Bowen resides about an hour and a half drive up I40 from you. He's not cheap, but his work cannot be improved upon either.

If you are inclined to drive a few minutes south of Chattanooga to Ringgold, Ga, Travis Strahan might be the guy for you. He is a pistolsmith, so no rifle work. He is a charter member of the American Pistolsmith guild. He got his start in the Army as an armorer for the Army marksmanship team. He specializes in 1911 pistols and PPC revolvers. I have several 1911's that he has worked on and they run flawlessly. I also have a few S&W revolvers with his PPC trigger job. Again, simply the best DA revolver trigger I have ever pulled. When you purchase his services, you are buying over 50 years of experience. As you might guess, this does not come cheap, but his work is worth every penny.

Perhaps the OP should chime back in with what he's specifically looking for? Just a thought...

That would be helpful. Although since this was posted in the handgun section, I would say it narrowed down slightly. :yum:

I have a Springfield 1911 A1 5" slide all stainless that shoots like a competition gun , has the best adjustable Target sights low set in the frame , also I am a small stature person and have neurological issues in my hand the trigger needs to be set round 2.5 to 3 LB max . as well as adding custom engraving and cuts to it .
