My aunt sent this to me .I don't know where the info came from. Sure did seem to :poop:wreck a nice weapon. here's what she sent.I hope this hasn't been around for awhile and I haven't see it.

Deleted part of thread because not the real story just leaving the pics.

I need to get a life :D

Looks like when the round in the chamber went off, It also set off at least two other rounds in adjacent cylinders. I would have hated to been the one that pulled the trigger on That one!

This is a hoax not the picture but the Chinese Ammo part it was a double charged reloaded cartridge

You're right Garufa I did quick search on "blown up S&W revolver" and its all over the place and nothing mentioned about chinese ammo. Are pics not showing up ?

This story and the pics have been making the rounds for quite some time (2005/2006 or so). Somebody tracked down the original source of the photos a while back on another forum and the cause of the carnage was someone double or triple charging a handload. Not cheap Chinese ammo.

It is my understanding that this is why Rugers are the weapons of choice for hot rounds.

A friend of mine with a couple of Linebaugh's was saying that the Ruger cylinders and frames that are not the "new" models (i.e. "new vaquero") would handle higher pressures than the other production guns of comparable caliber. Obviously the cylinders get replaced in the ones that change caliber, but the frame remains the same.

You can Google "chinese ammo" as well to find it all over.
