Best Way to Get what you want

So, I am defninitely in the market for a Springfield EMP 9mm. I might be having the $$ available within a week or 2. None of the shops around me have one in stock.

What would be the best way to go about getting this little gem?

Have local gun shop order it, buy from online distributor or retailer (such as Bud's Gun Shop, Davidson's, Gunbroker.com)

Or, I guess, I could order from Springfield Direct.

Any suggestions or other options?

It has been a couple of weeks, but CCA had one in stock.

The best way is to go into a couple of shops and just bluntly tell them, "I want xxx, what would you price it at, as yyy is charging $zzz for it shipped?"

I have done that a few times and had the firearm ordered and priced within $50 of what I could have gotten it from Bud's. I don't mind paying $50 more to a local brick and mortar.

+1 on Murgatroy's post. Give your local shop an opportunity to earn your business. You may come to appreciate the advice dispensed over the counter, and the accessories and logistical support you can get from your local shop.

Mikes Gun Shop had a .40 EMP in stock yesterday. It was marked as used but could not tell it from new. It was $1004.00

Call Tri Cites Gun Depot in Elizabethton (tgo sponsor) It might be worth the 1.5 hour drive to get that sucker at a good price. If you make the trip i'll buy you lunch.
