reminds me of tornado weather. Thought something was odd this morning when I went to school and it felt as muggy as mid-may at 7 am, but it's middle of November. This is Tennessee's 2nd tornado season (oct - dec).

Big squall line of storms moving this way from the north and west, but it's spread out from the northeastern Great Lakes southwest to the Missouri bootheel.

Storm Prediction Center - Current Convective Watches

Been watching this for the past hour or so, and it could get little dicey later this evening in Tennessee, from Mempis all the way to Knoxville late tonight/early tomorrow morning. Earlier about 11:30 am today, there were only tornado watches to the north, but the past few hours the squall line has begun to build back further to the west as the cold front clashes with the warm moist air coming up from the gulf, and I've seen tornado watch boxes popping up back into wrn IL, KY, and SERN Mo. Jet stream has been unusually active with consecutive windy days this weekend and today, pushing this storm system this way, and it's a pretty powerful lower level jet stream.

Traditionally squall line thunderstorms don't produce many tornadoes, usually just straight line winds, hail, and heavy rains, but on occassion embedded supercells can separate or form out ahead of the squall line and become discrete and tornadoes can form, so if you have plans tonight, keep an eye on the weather, and if you're staying home, keep an eye on the weather on the internet or turn the tv on, and make sure you got flashlights and batteries and if possible a weather radio. Now would be a good time to review weather emergency procedures with your families so you have a plan of action in the event you or your loved ones are in the path of a tornado.

Stay safe tonight everybody, hopefully it'll just be some rain and thunder and lightning and nothing more, but better safe than sorry.
