Hard Reality

(CAVEAT: The below is my personal opinionand observation only. It is not an academic statement of fact, so don't call for cites.)

I believe the current economic chaos of boom and bust cycles comes from Government/Business collusion and was actually started during the John Adams administration. All of the presidents after him, except for Thomas Jefferson(first term only) and Grover Cleveland, have followed the Hamiltonian Mercantile model put into action then. Originally the"Battle Plan" of the Whig (later current day Republican) Party, this economic path was also adopted by the Democratic party in 1896, thereby abandoning the Jeffersonian small central Government and Free Market philosophy.

Both parties (particularly the Tea Party faction of the Republican Party) are claiming a small government/free market platform, but in fact both ( Red and Blue) are Hamiltonian and are for big central government and Government subsidies. The Republicans want to drop out Social Welfare (Social Security and Public Welfare) and the Democrats want to dump Corporate Welfare ( Hamiltonian Government/Business collusion). Both still are strongly favoring a strong central government, but constructed in such a way as to benefit their own"clients" (Big Money supporters).

The "big show" of "Return to the Constitution" is just a smoke screen. The Necessary and Proper Clause (Section 1), as supported by the United States Supreme Court, has already deemed it "Constitutional and Legal" for the central Federal government to control anything it wants. The only buffer is the Bill of Rights and it has been pretty well gutted and deprived of any real power to restrict Federal or state Government. "Tenthers" need to take a long hardlook at the Neccessary and Proper clause and the USSC decisions around it . The Tenth Amendment has been pretty much rendered impotent.

For those who are in doubt of this, (and that should be most people, as itjust doesn't fit the "of the People. for the People and by the People" that we were taught.) Go to www.walthofman.com and look through the original writings of the founders. There is no paraphrasing or political bias on the site, just the original writings of those that built the country, and includes both sides.

I'm not an expert and you shouldn't blindly buy my opinions. Read the real documents and then make your own opinions!

IMHO, the people lost the government long ago. Those who lobby with large $, get the laws they want.

Corporations are not people, and should never be treated as more important than the citizen. A bit late for this though...

Lincoln should share the blame as well, as it was the "Civil" War which established the larger central federal government over states.

The two party system allows for only two trains of thought. Artificially creating a "left vs right" government. This manner allows for those with power to use the parties as a "dog and pony show" to convince the public their vote matters.

But hey, the majority of the voters will stick loyally to their "party" affiliation, even when they know they are voting in a useless piece of garbage, merely to keep the other "party" from getting their candidate in, even if that candidate is the better choice.

Worse, they will swear that useless piece of garbage is without fault, blame the other party's candidates or policies for the failure of their party and candidates.

Worse still, the people will allow those with power and $ corrupt and take control of any political movement attempting to break the status quo.

Until the people understand what the Constitution is, what the Founding Fathers, ACTUALLY intended, and how the present political system is killing this nation, nothing will change. The haves will have what they want, the rest of us will scavenge from under their feasting table.

The problem with government is that it is staffed by people. People are prone to error, immorality, lack of ethics and corruption. It is almost impossible to keep persons of that nature out of anything, or they may swing that way after entry into government. The founding fathers attempted to do the best they could to place a set of rules that would resist destruction of government from within by corrupt individuals, or at least delay it as long as possible, but it can only do so for a period of time if the bombardment of corruption relentlessly continues. Corruption has greatly deteriorated our government and the principals upon which it was founded. It is time for our citizenry to renew it's familiarity with our founding documents and to demand that they be adhered to. Our present pack of politicians are the most outlaw and corrupt bunch since the founding of The United States of America. They are blatantly ignoring and side-stepping our established laws and the checks and balances of our form of government. If it continues this way, and depending on the outcome of elections in 2012, or if we even have elections in 2012, it may become dependent on the citizenry to force our 'representatives' to adhere to our founding documents. It may be a bitter pill for them to swallow, but the life and preservation of the Republic of The United States of America may depend on it.

Self reliance is the only solution. The majority of the population, is, by definition, of average intelligence. There will always be those of above average intelligence who see this, as opportunity to manipulate and exploit the masses. Any revolution against the system becomes the new system, and the cycle begins again. Removing yourself from the system is the only solution.
